Colonized by the Catholic Spain for 300 years and the US for 50 years, Filipino traditions became more colorful and very diverse. Beauty tilts are very popular in all localities in the country. During Fiestas, such is a major event. That photo was taken on the other day in Lunao, Misamis Oriental when I went back to Cagayan de Oro. Who knows one of those in the picture may represent the country for international pageants someday! The parade caused traffic and I was able to take a shoot. Upon inquiry, I learned they celebrated their fiesta on that day. Months of April and May in the Philippines are days of Fiestas.

Especially the month of May there are fiestas (almost everyday} in many places in Mindanao and the Bohol Islands. When was the last time you came here? ooh! I suggest, you should visit Bohol province for the rest of May. Butuan City Fiesta is on May 19.

Hiya!
I am going to be there by the end of April, hopefully! I shall be there for one week. Last time, I was there on business and this time around it will be the same. But I hope to see something of the beautiful country this time, something more than the beach.
Thanks for the info doll! I'll keep that in mind incase the plans take me down there in May.
