To all my friends here in this blogsite this will be my last post. I would like to thank you all for viewing my blog and for the wonderful learning environment that we are interacting. Though I was not able to give any comments on everybody's posts but I learned many upon reading your blogs. I get to know closer to some you here and dearly treasure that friendship that bonded us together. Once again thank you so much.

This medical mission happened last Holy Friday of 2007 in our barrio. Many of the villagers were benefited. Vitamins were given to children free of charge. The doctors also sponsored free circumcision to the little boys, dental and general checkup.
Colonized by the Catholic Spain for 300 years and the US for 50 years, Filipino traditions became more colorful and very diverse. Beauty tilts are very popular in all localities in the country. During Fiestas, such is a major event. That photo was taken on the other day in Lunao, Misamis Oriental when I went back to Cagayan de Oro. Who knows one of those in the picture may represent the country for international pageants someday! The parade caused traffic and I was able to take a shoot. Upon inquiry, I learned they celebrated their fiesta on that day. Months of April and May in the Philippines are days of Fiestas.
Lanao Lake is very beautiful but sad to say, Lanao del Sur is seldom if never visited by tourists especially christian tourists. Is it because people living here are Muslims? I hope not. Filipino Muslims and Christians are just victims of history. Why not bridge the gap then? It just happens that we are not of the same religion. Thanks the the Philippine government's effort of establishing Mindanao State University, which the primary purpose is the integration of Filipino Muslims and Christians ( http://www.msumain.edu.ph/ ). In this photo, I remember there is that Filipino folk song about a drunkard fisherman named Felimon. After fishing, he got drunk for drinking 'Tuba" a native coconut wine. Drinking of 'Tuba" wine is a very common vice among the folks in any rural villages in the countryside. I hope this man will not follow Felimon. His family is looking after him and he has children to feed.
"Have seen this as one of the feats in the famous TV show Fear Factor, eating balut. It is a must try for the daring foreign visitor when in the Philippines. Balut is incubated duck eggs and aborted a few days before it will hatch. Boiled before serving, the soup is so yummy. Eating the almost-chick thing is a such a feat - your mind commanding you to eat overpowering against what you are seeing. No, no, no! - that was just cinematic effects. Once you tasted it, you'll gonna keep coming back for more. Warning: Very high in cholesterol. Do not eat more than 5 in one sitting! As night falls, be aware of the man shouting "Balut, balut!" with a basket over his shoulder doing the rounds through the city streets. The basket is heat-insulated, so expect a hot balut when handed over. It costs P12.00 a piece." --as described by Back packer.
